Mushu, a disgraced former guardian, accidentally destroys the statue chosen to guide Mulan and, desiring to redeem himself, travels to her aid. Mulan goes on to become a great war hero, defeating the evil Shan Yu in a grand fireworks explosion despite her expulsion from the army when her deception is revealed.
